How is the exact age calculated?
The calculator subtracts the birth date from the target date (today by default), accounting for the exact number of days in each month and leap years. It returns the complete years, remaining months, and remaining days.
Can I calculate age on a specific past date?
Yes. The "As of Date" field lets you specify any past date to calculate what someone's age was at that point in time. This is useful for legal or historical age calculations.
How are leap years handled?
Leap years are handled automatically. The calculator uses JavaScript's built-in Date object which correctly accounts for February having 28 or 29 days depending on the year.
What does "Total Days Lived" include?
Total Days Lived is the complete count of days from your date of birth to the target date, including the birth day itself. It accounts for all leap years in between.
How is "Next Birthday" calculated?
The calculator finds the next occurrence of your birth month and day after the target date. If your birthday has already passed this year, it shows days until next year's birthday. If today is your birthday, it shows "Today!"
