Does it count spaces as characters? +
Yes. The "Characters" count includes all characters including spaces. The "No Spaces" count excludes whitespace characters. Both counts are shown simultaneously.
What does "Bytes" mean? +
Bytes shows the UTF-8 byte size of the text. For standard ASCII characters this equals the character count, but accented characters (like é or ü) and emoji use more than one byte each.
Why is my Twitter count yellow or red? +
Twitter/X has a 280-character limit. Yellow means you've used more than 80% (224 characters), and red means you've exceeded the limit. The number in parentheses shows how many characters over the limit you are.
What are "Unique Chars"? +
Unique characters counts how many distinct characters (excluding spaces) appear in your text. Useful for analysing letter frequency or checking for character diversity.
